What we do on Dell series
- Inspiron
- Latitude
- XPS
- Vostro
- G Series
- Precision
- Alienware
Latitude and Precision
On these business-oriented series, charger recognition, battery life and keyboard faults are the most common. Dell adapters report their power rating to the device; with an incompatible or faulty adapter, the device may limit charging and show a warning.
XPS
Because of the thin, compact design, some XPS models can have battery swelling and heat-related problems. Care is needed with the case structure when opening and closing the device.
Inspiron and Vostro
On these everyday series, cracks around the plastic case and hinge area, screen cable faults and drives that slow down over time are typical. Moving to an SSD gives a noticeable speed gain on most models.
G Series and Alienware
On these gaming models, heat under heavy load, fan noise and performance drops are common. Fan cleaning and a thermal paste refresh lower temperatures in most cases.
Common Dell faults
- Charger not recognised or battery not charging
- Black screen at startup, unable to enter BIOS
- Overheating and loud fan on gaming series
Upgrades and what to bring
On business series such as Latitude and Precision, RAM and SSD can usually be replaced by opening the bottom cover. On XPS and some thin Latitude models, the RAM may be soldered to the motherboard, in which case an upgrade is not possible. Tell us your model number or Service Tag and we can say in advance which upgrade is possible.
What to bring: If you note the 7-character Service Tag on the label under the device, we can identify the exact model and hardware configuration.

Frequently asked questions
About Dell service
My Dell shows an adapter not recognised warning. What is the cause?
Dell devices read the adapter's power rating. A warning can appear, and charging may slow down, if the adapter is not original, the cable or tip is damaged, or the device's charging port is faulty. Trying a different original adapter shows whether the problem is the adapter or the device.
My Dell power light is blinking. What does it mean?
On many Dell models, the number and colour of blinks of the power or battery light form an error code. Codes vary by model. If you tell us how many times and in what colour it blinks, we can work out faster which part may be faulty.
Can I add an SSD or RAM to a Dell Latitude?
On most Latitude models, they are accessible from the bottom cover. However, on some thin models the RAM is soldered. With your Service Tag or model number, we can tell you the suitable upgrade in advance.
Why do Alienware or G Series laptops get so hot?
A high-performance processor and graphics card produce a lot of heat under load. Dust buildup and dried-out thermal paste make it worse. Regular fan cleaning and a thermal paste refresh can lower temperatures noticeably.
Is Antalya Notebook an authorised Dell service?
No. Antalya Notebook is an independent service shop and is not an authorised brand service. For devices still under warranty, work done outside an authorised service may affect the warranty terms. We recommend checking your warranty status before any work.
